Royals Tickets 33% Below Average For Series Vs Indians

In the AL Central the Detroit Tigers have taken a sizeable lead, with the Cleveland Indians and Kansas City Royals their only challengers. The two teams are separated by half a game, and now they have a four-game series in Kansas City. Royals tickets are averaging $58.16 for all home games on the Royals schedule. But Royals vs Indians tickets are only averaging $39.20 for the series, down 33 percent from the season average.

7/24 – CLE Corey Kluber vs. KC Danny Duffy | Avg. Price: $24 | Get-in Price: $9

The Royals have had a good rotation this year, and Danny Duffy has been a notable part of it. He leads the team with a 2.71 ERA in 14 starts, and trails only Yordano Ventura in home run rate. That’s particularly surprising, considering Duffy is a fly ball pitcher who doesn’t have a relatively high strikeout rate. Kluber has been great and a constant bright spot on the Indians schedule every fifth day. Royals vs Indians tickets for the game are the cheapest of the series with a $24 average price and $9 get-in.

7/25 – CLE Josh Tomlin vs. KC Yordano Ventura | Avg. Price: $50.80 | Get-in Price: $17

In addition to keeping the ball in the park, Ventura has the second highest strikeout rate on the team. He also is tied for the second highest WAR, and is alone with the second highest FIP of 3.81. But Ventura has struggled in his last two outings as a starter, letting up a combined 10 runs in 9.1 innings of work. He also walked eight batters compared to just five strikeouts. Yet this Friday night game is the most expensive of the series with an average price of $50.80 and a get-in price of $17.

7/26 – CLE Zach McAllister vs. KC Jeremy Guthrie | Avg. Price: $47 | Get-in Price: $14

Jeremy Guthrie has had some really great stretched for the Royals, but overall he has been less than stellar. Despite being second on the team with 20 starts and 126.1 innings pitched, Guthrie has the worst WAR on the team to go along with a 4.56 ERA and a 5-9 record. He’s given up 17 earned runs in his last three starts that only spanned 14 innings. The average price of the game is $47 and the get-in price is $14.

7/27 – CLE Danny Salazar vs. KC Bruce Chen | Avg. Price: $35 | Get-in Price: $8

Prices drop back down for the last game of the series. The average price is just $35 and the get-in is $8. Bruce Chen gets the start for the Royals, and he got off to a rough start. He gave up at least four runs in four of his first five starts, and only went past the sixth inning once. Since then his numbers have been better, but he still only has the one start of at least six innings. But while his 5.76 ERA is easily the worst on the team, his 3.88 FIP ranks him third. He’s got a solid K/BB ratio, but has been victim of a high .380 BABIP. So while he might not be a great pitcher for the Royals, his numbers should improve.
