The Kansas City Royals fail to take game one of a three-game series against the Detroit Tigers on Monday, Sept. 16. Despite a grand slam from the city’s second-most beloved sports superstar, Bobby Witt Jr., in the third inning to take a four-run lead, the Tigers would answer back in the fourth, fifth, and sixth, rallying for the team’s seven total runs. Nevertheless, the boys are still playing some ball, and a blue Oct. is looking likely. With 11 games left in the season, taking at least half would be ideal to ensure a spot in the MLB Wild Card race. The Yals look to get back on track tonight against the Tigers with Cole Ragans on the mound.
