Royals give up strangest run of the season so far

The All-Star break can’t come fast enough for the Royals. They had a rough weekend that included losing both games of a Saturday doubleheader and getting beat 10-8 on Sunday. And in the first game on Saturday, they suffered through this strange and humiliating run. Twins shortstop Brian Dozier made minimal contact with the pitch, and the ball decided it didn’t need to abide by the laws of physics anymore. Somehow the ball spun and twisted its way inside the first-base line, and catcher Brian Pena threw too late to get Dozier out. Meanwhile, pitcher Jonathan Sanchez forgot to cover the plate, which allowed the run to score. Yes, a break will do these guys some good.
