Royals beat writer tells Hollywood crew to work around him

A Kansas City sportswriter apparently refused to accommodate the makers of a movie and may end up in the film as a result.

The Twitter page of a baseball writer in Chicago indicates that Dick Kaegel, who covers the Royals for MLB.com, would not give up his seat in the press box while a scene in Moneyball was being shot during a game in Oakland last year. Based on the book by Michael Lewis, Moneyball stars Brad Pitt as A’s general manager Billy Beane, who built a winner by taking a more empirical approach to talent evaluation.
