Roy Blunt believes doughnuts give people epilepsy

U.S. Rep. Roy Blunt (R-Bible Belt) takes a hard-line approach to pre-existing medical conditions.

Blunt recently voiced support for repealing health-care legislation in Springfield, Missouri. The Senate hopeful said he supported the idea that children with pre-existing medical conditions should have access to insurance. But adults? Hey, pal, maybe you should have thought about your insurability when you reached for all those 2-liter bottles of Squirt.

“[A]ccess for adults who’ve done nothing to take care of themselves, who actually will have as I just described every incentive not to get insurance until the day that you know that you’re going to have medical expenses — that’s a very different kind of story.”

To be sure, less junk food and couch dwelling would make Americans’ health problems cheaper to treat. But do repeated viewings of Judge Judy cause lupus?
