Roman LeBlanc tells girl’s family on camera that she said ‘no’

Missouri state Rep. Roman LeBlanc abused his position as a mentor to have sex with a college freshman (as detailed in this week’s Pitch feature story). LeBlanc, a married man with a pregnant wife, had known the girl since she was 15. The then-18-year-old woman told authorities that LeBlanc raped her; Platte County prosecutors believed there wasn’t enough physical evidence to try the case.
The young woman’s family shot this video on a cell phone; in it, LeBlanc says he tried to touch her, and “she said no.”
LeBlanc later claimed he didn’t tell the family it was consensual sex because he was trying to protect the girl.
