Roeder’s preliminary hearing set for Tuesday

A preliminary hearing for Scott P. Roeder, charged with first-degree murder in the May 31 killing of Wichita abortion doctor George Tiller, is set for Tuesday. The hearing, originally scheduled for late June, had been delayed a month to give lawyers more time to examine evidence.

Roeder heads to the Sedgwick County Courthouse on Tuesday, July 28, at 9:30 a.m. Although Assistant District Attorney Kim Parker has listed as many as 50 state’s witnesses, 43 of them members of the Wichita Police Department, the DA’s office says the hearing is likely to wrap up in a day.
