Rod Jetton is having a bad week

Rod Jetton isn’t having the best week.
Yesterday, a judge reportedly scheduled a preliminary hearing for February 24 in the assault case against Jetton, who allegedly punched and choked woman during sex in mid-November and supposedly told the woman the next morning that she “should have said green balloons” to stop the rough sex.
However, the woman claimed to police that she resisted Jetton’s sexual advances but lost consciousness after drinking wine — poured out of sight by Jetton — and awoke to Jetton choking her and having sexual intercourse with her (read the complaint here and read more here).
Earlier this month, Jetton, the former Missouri Speaker of the House and political power broker, entered a not guilty plea to second-degree felony assault charges stemming from the allegations.
And today, The Kansas City Star reported that federal investigators are asking lots and lots of questions about Jetton while investigating an alleged “pay for play” scandal.
“No question there’s interest in Rod Jetton,” former Missouri Legislator Bob Johnson told the Star. “That’s all they wanted to talk about.”
The Star also confirmed that a grand jury will convene on February 2 and 9.
Uht oh. Someone should send Jetton some green balloons.
