Rock of Pages: Upcoming Books

From Mitch Clem comes the news that he “decided to finally pull my head out of my ass and finish this MSL book. I’ve set a deadline for myself to have it 100% finished in the next two weeks. Currently scanning some unpublished strips from MSL and SARC to slip in and see if anyone notices.” The strips will be collected in a book to be released by New Reliable Press. No date has been set for its release.
(MSL = “My Stupid Life,” an autobiographical comic Clem started in 2008.
SARC = “San Antonio Rock City,” the autobiographical comic Clem started in 2006 that preceded “My Stupid Life.”)
BYO Records celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, and the label the Stern brothers started back in 1984 is celebrating in a big way. It’s sort of a package deal. There’s Let Them Know, which is both a documentary about the label’s history, and a book.
The book is a full-color, hardcover coffee table book further celebrating the label’s history that comes with a double LP with 31 tracks of bands covering songs from the BYO catalog. You can hear four songs from that LP on a recently-released e-card. We’ll have a full review of the book in the near future.
