Richard Tripp has an idea for helping Kansas City’s homeless during the heatwave (video)

Richard Tripp has an idea for helping homeless people during the heat wave: He wants folks to fill their empty milk jugs with water, put them in the freezer for a night and then give the jugs to the people standing on street corners. He’s calling it “Cool Kansas City.” It’s a nice idea, and Tripp knows what it’s like to be homeless.

If Tripp’s name is familiar, it’s because he runs an organization called Care of Poor People, which holds potlucks and clothing giveaways for the homeless around Thanksgiving and Easter. With temps in the hundreds today, I bet there are a lot of folks out there who would appreciate the gesture.
