Richard Franks Jr., KCMO homicide 27: Man shot to death in the 4300 block of Forest

Kansas City police say 41-year-old Richard Franks Jr. was the victim of Monday night’s homicide in the 4300 block of Forest.

Officers found Franks’ body in a vehicle along with two men (both alive) and several guns around 8:38 p.m.

Several muzzle flashes from gun fire was seen at a couple of nearby houses on the east side of Forest.

During the investigation at the scene,

residents from a third house

on the west side of the street became confrontational with officers. The

scene grew so ugly that investigators believed that it was unsafe.

Tactical officers were called in to

remove the occupants of all three houses. Several people were taken into

custody.

But police now say no suspects are in custody. Police
