Rex Hudler on the brink of winning tournament of statements uttered by sports personalities

  • Rex Hudler needs your votes!

Surprising many fans, the Royals have been ripping apart their competition in spring training. The team is a startling 11-0-1 in Cactus League play. And off the field this spring, Royals announcer Rex Hudler is piling up victories in the Preposterous Statement Tournament (PST) conducted each spring by Twin Cities sports-radio host Dan Cole the Common Man.

Cole, a host on KFAN 100.3, spends the year collecting listener submissions of utterly ridiculous things said by sportswriters, play-by-play announcers, players and other sports personalities. Every spring, he hosts a March Madness-style tournament of the absurd quotes that are voted on by listeners. This year’s tournament is the fifth that Cole has done, and the Royals’ Hudler has one of the final eight preposterous statements left in the field. And it’s a serious, painfully hilarious contender to win it all.
