Red, White & Boom
The Pitch Music Awards ballot was decided by 22 area critics, promoters, journalists and club owners, none of whom, evidently, share much in the way of common taste with KMXV “Mix” 93.3. To wit, none of the area acts competing for the opening slot at the station’s Red, White & Boom festival are on the PMA ballot. Which is too bad — the thought of Doris Henson warming up the stage for the Pussycat Dolls is wicked bad. But we’re sure Chasing 7 will do an equally fine job. In any case, Red, White & Boom’s tenth anniversary is going to be hands down the teen-dreamiest ever because, in addition to a lineup that includes Gavin DeGraw (pictured), Lifehouse and Nivea, the bill includes not just one but two pinups from the WB: Summerland‘s Jesse McCartney and One Tree Hill‘s Tyler Hilton. It’s only apropos, considering that the overall experience of a day spent at Red, White & Boom is at least as guilty a pleasure as watching the WB.
