Record Store Day in Kansas City

We think Record Store Day is best captured by this quote we coaxed from music guru Robert Moore: “Record store day, for people like me, is like earth day for an environmental activist. We already doin’ it.”

For all you that ain’t already doin’ it, Record Store Day is the day that all independently owned record stores join with artists to celebrate music. (Namely, records.) Including special vinyl and CD releases, the festivities at two of the Kansas City record stores we hit up — Vinyl Renaissance and Streetside Records — included DJ sets and a show from local band Thee Water Moccasins.
