Raynal King, accused of robbery, was ID’d by former classmate

It’s a small world, damn it.

Last November, Raynal King, 18, and two other men allegedly robbed the Jimmy John’s sandwich shop at 3900 Broadway. When detectives arrived at the scene, a witness said they recognized King because they’d been classmates at the same middle school.

King was arrested yesterday after two other victims positively identified him as a suspect in a photo lineup. Today, prosecutors charged him with the crime.

After being transported to police headquarters, King told a Kansas City Police Department detective that he and his “associates” had considered robbing the same Jimmy John’s earlier that November, but had changed their minds.

Perhaps they should have consulted their middle school yearbooks before trying again?
