Range of Reasons

Demoralized Royals fans have run out of reasons to feign interest in the club. By this time in the season, they’ve attended games out of delusional optimism, interest in a particular young player, or the opportunity to use cheap tickets. Usually, though, fans have attended out of mere habit. Here’s another reason to go: At 7:10 p.m. the Royals face an exciting opponent, the Texas Rangers, a team that just might be a World Series contender. Led by talented outfielder Josh Hamilton and ace pitcher Cliff Lee, the Rangers lead the American League West and arrive in KC ready to continue their best season in more than a decade. Another reason to head to Kauffman Stadium (Interstate 70 and Blue Ridge Cutoff): Monday is Royals Nite, meaning upper-deck seats are only $5. Ticket price goes up to $240. Call
