Randy “Macho Man” Savage dies in a car wreck

TMZ is reporting that former pro wrestler Randy “Macho Man” Savage has died in a car accident in Tampa, Florida. The news site spoke with Savage’s brother, Lanny Poffo, who confirmed that the former world champion wrestler suffered a heart attack around 10 a.m. while driving and lost control of his 2009 Jeep Wrangler, crossed the median and struck a tree head-on.

Savage, 58, died from his injuries at Largo Medical Center. According to TMZ, Savage’s wife, Lynn, was a passenger in the vehicle during the crash but suffered “minor injuries.” Both were wearing their seat belts, and authorities said alcohol wasn’t a factor.
