Qwentelia Vanzant and Jaron Syrus identified as victims of Monday’s double homicide

• Jaron Syrus and his girlfriend were shot to death Monday.

Kansas City police have identified the victims of Monday night’s homicide as Qwentelia Vanzant and Jaron Syrus. Both were 25 years old and from Blue Springs.

UPDATE: Police have released additional details in the killings of Syrus and Vanzant, who they say were boyfriend and girlfriend and have a child. Police say Syrus and Vanzant “were involved in a large fight between several individuals when they were shot.” A dark-colored SUV was spotted fleeing the scene.
