Quadruple shooting leaves one dead at 27th and Askew block party; 48 homicides in Kansas City, Missouri

UPDATE (3:47 p.m.): The victim of Saturday night’s block party homicide was 29-year-old Rodney Curtis. Police are still looking for his killer.

Original Story (6 a.m.): A quadruple shooting at a block party at 27th and Askew has left one man dead, making him Kansas City, Missouri’s 48th homicide of 2011.

The shooting occurred around 11:30 p.m. Saturday. Police found two victims, both suffering from life-threatening injuries. The victims were rushed to a hospital where one of them, described as a black man in his 20s, died.
