Q&A: Comedian Dov Davidoff, at Stanford and Sons through Saturday

The common perception of stand-up comedians as damaged weirdos who use humor as a coping mechanism seems to be true more often than not, and no exception is necessary in the case of Dov Davidoff, who was raised in a junkyard. No, really, we asked — it was the family business. Add some exposure to a cult and some New Jersey gruffness and, boom, funny person! In addition to stand-up, Davidoff has appeared in Invincible with Mark Wahlberg as well as a variety of TV shows. The Pitch caught up with him in advance of his four-night run at Stanford and Sons, which starts tonight. Tickets cost $12-$35, depending on night and proximity to stage.
