Purdue’s Matt Painter the No. 1 target of Missouri’s basketball coach search, set to meet

Purdue basketball coach Matt Painter is scheduled to meet with University of Missouri officials soon to talk about the Tigers’ vacant coaching job, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. The St. Louis paper cited a source saying that there was “better than a 50 percent chance that Painter would accept an offer,” and this whole situation would likely be wrapped up by Wednesday.

The Kansas City Star also quoted a source saying that Painter and Mizzou officials were already “talking seriously.” Rivals.com is also reporting that Painter is the No. 1 candidate to replace Mike Anderson.
