Protest of Muslim ban planned at KCI on Sunday

President Donald Trump’s hateful and disgusting and plainly unconstitutional executive order banning immigration from Muslim-majority countries to the United States was temporarily blocked on Saturday evening by a federal judge in New York. Thank god for the courts, and for the ACLU, which challenged Trump’s executive order. Republicans in Congress are clearly not up to the challenge of holding Trump accountable for his xenophobic overreaches.
The judge’s ruling is a stay; it prevents the government from deporting people who arrived at airports yesterday but doesn’t guarantee their entry to the country, nor is it a broader decision about the constitutionality of Trump’s order.
Here’s a pretty good synopsis of where things currently stand, from Axios:

Protests at JFK Airport in New York and elsewhere on Saturday helped draw attention to this national travesty. As of Saturday night, there were no immigrants detained at Kansas City International Airport, according to its Twitter account. Still, on Sunday, you can make your voice heard by attending a demonstration planned at KCI. A protest of the Muslim ban will take place at 2 p.m. at Terminal C. Here’s the Facebook event page. If you live elsewhere, there’s a running list of scheduled airport protests here.
