Prosecutors trying to drop murder charges against 11-year-old Independence boy

A judge will decide if a young boy who killed his father will go free.

Sounds like prosecutors are doing the right thing in the case of the 11-year-old boy accused of killing his father, David Paul Champ.

Prosecutors have filed a motion to dismiss second-degree murder charges filed against the Independence fifth grader, according to Fox 4. The charges stem from an August 2 incident in which Champ allegedly forced the

boy to shoot him under the threat of cutting off the boy’s fingers if he didn’t pull the trigger.
