Preston Peltier shot to death at 81st and Wabash; 62 homicides in KCMO

UPDATE (4:04 p.m.): The victim of this morning’s homicide at 81st and Wabash has been identified as 33-year-old Preston Peltier of KCMO.

Original Story (7:12 a.m.): A man was found shot to death in the street at 81st and Wabash early this morning.

Witnesses told police that they saw a black man shoot the victim around 2:30 a.m. The shooter fled the scene on foot. The unnamed victim is described as a black man in his mid-30s. His death is Kansas City, Missouri’s 62nd homicide of 2011.
