Premiere: LFK post-midwest rockers City Hall drop second single “Radio”
Lawrence’s hottest new band City Hall has released their second single, “Radio.” The five-piece outfit has taken the local music scene by storm playing to packed venues and playing on college radio stations. “Radio” is a fast-paced, guitar-driven track packed with sarcastic, yet light-hearted lyrics about “the changing landscape of music consumption.”
City Hall features Zack Black on the skins, Brogan Scott on bass, Chris Tran and Daniel Zoller on guitar, and is rounded out by Ben Erickson on vocals. The band has already received some critical acclaim in just the short amount of time they have been playing, including but not limited to being featured on Spotify editorial playlists and music blogs.
Take a listen to the new track right here:
City Hall’s music is influenced by artists such as Tiger’s Jaw, Title Fight, and Joyce Manor. Their highly energetic stage performances are only rivaled by the energy of their audience. These five guys on a (usually) small stage encompass the vibe of an arena act—with implied pyro backing instead of the real shit. They command most rooms with that level of marionette master control over their 40 minutes controlling the vibe.
If anyone on the come-up in Lawrence right now showed true promise of breaking through into the big leagues, betting on City Hall would yield dividends.
