Pregame Fiesta

For their showdown tonight with the New York Yankees, the Kansas City Royals are packing a little extra talent from Latin America. Kauffman Stadium (Interstate 70 and Blue Ridge Cutoff) celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month with its Viva Los Royals pregame festivities with a couple of Mexico’s most enduring icons: singer Jose Jose and one of today’s hottest Latino artists, Jay Perez, the best male entertainer at this year’s Tejano Music Awards. For those who can’t tell a corrido from a bolero, Alex Reymundo will be on hand to MC the affair with the feisty comedy that coronated him one of the Latin Kings of Comedy in 2002. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Guadalupe Center — Kansas City’s longest-running organization promoting the Latino community — and the group will get an additional $3 for each ticket it sells. So swing into Hispanic Heritage Month by calling 816-421-1015 or visiting the center at 1015 Avenida Cesar Chavez for tickets.
