Police: One in every 130 Kansas Citians is in a street gang

The Kansas City Police Department is exploring some new ways to tackle local gang violence, which — especially after local luminaries got in a gun fight outside a funeral the other day — seems like a decent enough idea. The plan — which involves engaging federal prosecutors and cracking down on the gangs’ drug trade — seems to have potential, too.

It’s the number of actual gang members that seems a little off.
