Police officers shot at on Independence Avenue; police looking for black Honda Civic

Let’s try this again. Last week, the initial reports came in that two Kansas City police officers were fired upon in their patrol car. The thought of someone opening fire on police was a frightening one.

Turned out that the officers were never in any danger. They’d heard a van backfire, thought they heard gunshots and started shooting at the van (and in the process, shot up their own car). That isn’t the case this time.
