At Pole-a-Palooza — tonight’s pole-dancing competition at Club Sparks (1436 Kansas Avenue in Kansas City, Kansas) — skin to win is a losing strategy for the $500 grand prize. If any clothes come off or if any parts are exposed, the dancer is automatically disqualified and escorted out of the building. The dress code does embrace bikinis, however. Rigid stripping rule aside, Pole-a-Palooza promises an interesting night out. Promoter Jeremy Bonewitz has dropped off fliers at local gentlemen’s clubs to drum up contestants. However, amateur pole-cats shouldn’t be intimidated; the contest is open to everyone. Club Sparks will also feature a musical guest and a host of drink specials.
