Platte County man rapes child, films it, goes to jail for 25 years

Edward D. Shockey, 35, was sentenced yesterday to 25 years in prison for videotaping himself having sex with a 16-year-old girl. The sentence came after Shockey pleaded guilty to exploitation of a minor, statutory sodomy and promoting child pornography.

Shockey’s acts were discovered when he sent a stack of DVDs to the victim’s boyfriend, according to Platte County Prosecutor Eric Zahnd‘s office. The boyfriend said they were supposed to be music videos, but he saw something else when he popped them in his player.

The boyfriend turned the DVDs over to Riverside police, and they did the rest. No lack of evidence on this one.

“This defendant turned a teenage girl’s home into a house of horrors

where she was repeatedly sexually abused until it became commonplace,”

Zahnd said in a statement.

The videos also allegedly show Shockey’s girlfriend, Bobbie Geveshausen, 43, engaging in sex acts with the victim. Geveshausen is facing charges of sexual exploitation of a minor, second-degree statutory sodomy, and promoting of child pornography to a minor.

Shockey was sentenced to 11 years for sexual exploitation, seven years for statutory sodomy and seven years for promoting child pornography. He’ll serve those 25 years consecutively.
