Pixel Panda

With its second album in four years out November 3, it’s about time that Pixel Panda brought the frenzy back. Burial Suite features the dueling vocals, manic guitar work and crazy sound effects to which the band’s audience has grown accustomed. This time, though, the outfit also incorporates the impressive speed and (perhaps) possessed drumming of newbie Dan Bottemuller (formerly of the James Dean Trio). Preceding the album’s release, listeners on both sides of the Missouri River get a chance to see an act that, for its explosiveness and eccentricity, could well be the North Korea of local bands. After all, it’s not every day that someone wearing a panda mask melts your face.
