Pierced Arrows to hit the Jackpot on Sunday

Pierced Arrows is an intensely cultish garage-roots band that descends from Portland to Lawrence weirdly often. The whole story is long and allegedly includes draft dodging, bear hunting, countless bands, and eventually marriage. The short of it is that husband-and-wife members Fred and Toody Cole formed their first band Dead Moon in 1987, recorded a speculated 20 soulful rock albums, pressed one LP by hand on the same lathe that cut Kingsmen’s “Louis, Louis,” got big in Germany, and eventually broke up. Now grandparents, the two were resurrected as Pierced Arrows in 2007. They released Descending Shadows in 2010.
