Pi Gallery’s Final Show

Wolfing down a slice at Grinders and stepping next door into the Pi Gallery (419 East 18th Street) has been a First Friday tradition for so long that it’s hard to believe those days are coming to an end. The latest exhibit there – on view from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday – is the last at this location. After that, the gallery moves to the UMB Bank lobby at 6400 Independence. Up for this final fleeting moment is one of three simultaneous venues for the Cultures Without Borders Traveling Art Exhibit, a showcase of Kansas City art depicting multi-ethnic themes in a context of neighborhood or community. The reception starts at 6 p.m.; an awards presentation follows at 8. It has been seriously great, Pi Gallery, and it will be weird without you.
