Warren Haynes (guitar, vocals), Matt Slocum (keys), Kevin Scott (bass), Greg Osby (sax), and Terence Higgins (drums) make up the Warren Haynes Band, who came to Kansas City on Thursday. Their soulful blues rock version of “Fire in the Kitchen” had bouts of reggae jams. The night was enhanced with jazz undertones and sax solos thrown into the psychedelic waves of elongated bass notes that you could feel vibrating from the floor. Their nonstop, seamless transitions weaved intricate melodies through time, making you forget which song was even playing.
