The Boxmasters stopped through Kansas City on their fifth stop of the Love & Hate tour. Their Americana rockabilly sound is highlighted with influences from the British Invasion era of music, making The Boxmasters an inspiration on their own. Frontman Billy Bob (Bud when he’s on stage) Thornton brings a sense of badassery that would otherwise be unmatched.
Fran Moran and the Nervous Wrecks played for a sold-out crowd Saturday ahead of The Boxmasters, covering songs over the decades with a mix of some of their original work.
