Headlining Saturday night on a bill of 10 bands, Arkansauce packed a full house Saturday night. Their progressive and innovative jam band with a blend of bluegrass, folk, country, and Americana music features intricate instrumental work, heartfelt lyrics, and a lively stage presence. Their dedicated followers trek through their relentless touring schedule just to see how they change their ability to infuse traditional bluegrass with contemporary influences at the next show.
The Tim O’ Brien Band is a traditional ol’ timey knee-slap hillbilly bluegrass, particularly in the style of Bill Monroe. Their vibrant and energetic form of American folk music in a spirited and dynamic mannner.
Front Porch is a bluegrass band I’ve had the pleasure of covering several times and I have yet to see the same show. Known for their lively performances and traditional bluegrass sound infused with a modern twist, Front Porch features a lineup of skilled musicians who play the banjo, fiddle, guitar, mandolin, and upright bass. Their rich vocal harmonies perfectly outline their mix of original compositions and classic bluegrass covers. Front Porch is appreciated for their ability to connect with audiences through heartfelt lyrics, intricate instrumentals, and an engaging stage presence.
Bearing the near 100 degree weather for the outside stage, Pretend Friend showed how much sharing music means to them. Their high-energy unique blend of bluegrass, folk, and Americana bring a modern twist to traditional sounds. Their music features intricate instrumentals, tight harmonies, and engaging lyrics, often reflecting personal stories and broader social themes.
