The Kansas City Royals picked up a 3-0 victory on Wednesday against the L.A. Angels to close out the three-game series with two wins and a loss. Michael Lorenzen, who the Royals acquired via trade from the Texas Rangers at the deadline got the start, pitching seven innings with five strikeouts, allowing no runs. After taking a 2-0 lead in the second inning, the Royals never looked back, scoring just one run later in the game, yet still enough to beat the California team. Now, with 71 wins on the season, the Royals continue to stay in the mix of the MLB Wildcard race. Be on the lookout to see where the Royals are toward the end of Sept., as they push for the MLB Postseason. The heavy-hitting Phillies come to town tomorrow, so it will be interesting to see how the boys in blue match-up against one of the MLB’s best teams.
