The Kansas City Royals faced off against the Washington Nationals at Kauffman Stadium on Monday, Aug. 11, taking a 7-4 victory. After the Nats got off to a hot start against starting pitcher Bailey Falter, scoring two runs in the first inning, the Royals answered with two of their own in the second. In the sixth, after the Nationals scored another two in the fifth, the Royals scored four runs that would help them sail to a win in game one of the three-game series. The two teams match up again tonight at 6:40 p.m. for game two as the Royals continue to fight for a wildcard position.
