Photos: KC Current take 3-1 victory over Thorns, extending record-breaking NWSL home win streak

The Current made history at CPKC Stadium yesterday afternoon with a come-from-behind 3-1 victory over the Portland Thorns. After the Thorns scored in the 14th minute, Lo’eau LaBonta equalized before halftime.

The Current took over in the second half, as Temwa Chawinga scored off a pass from Croix Bethune in the 63rd minute, then assisted on Haley Hopkins’ stoppage-time goal to seal the win.

Sunday’s victory marked the Current’s ninth consecutive regular-season home win, the longest streak in league history. It also extended the club’s regular-season home unbeaten run to 22 matches (19-0-3), tying the longest streak in NWSL history.
