The KC Current kicked off the Women’s Cup at home with a dominant 3-0 win over the Mamelodi Sundowns on Wednesday, all goals coming in the first half of the match. The goals came from Forward Alexa Spaanstra in minute 24, Forward Michelle Cooper in the 38 minute, and Midfielder Vanessa DiBernardo in minute 42, putting the Current in a comfortable position heading into the second half. Now, the team will face Atlético de Madrid out of Spain at CPKC Stadium on Saturday for a chance to be crowned the champions of The Women’s Cup. Get out to CPKC Stadium and show support for these women who have showcased their stellar talent all season long. With the biggest match of their season emerging, now is the time to cheer them on more than ever. KC Baby!
