On Saturday, Nov. 30, the Kansas Mavericks took a disappointing 4-2 home loss to the Tulsa Oilers, despite having 13 more shots on net. The Oilers got going early with a goal about ten minutes into the first period, and KC answered back with their own shortly after. As the second period got underway, Tulsa regained the lead, yet the Mavericks, again, clapped in one of their own to make the game 2-2 heading into the third. The Oilers took off for another lead change in the beginning of the period, and later snagged an empty-net score toward the end of the match. It is a rough loss for Kansas City, considering Tulsa, Toledo, and themselves are within one game of first place in the ECHL. The Mavericks got going again with a win over Wichita on Sunday, Dec. 1, and hope to continue the success against Utah on Wednesday.
