KC Current took on North Carolina Courage in their first match of the 2024 NWSL Playoffs on Saturday, Nov. 9. Coming into the playoffs as the four-seed, the Current were matched up against five-seed North Carolina. Temwa Chawinga—the team’s savior—quickly did what she knows best: Scoring with ease. In minute eight, Chawinga scored the only goal of the match that would lead the Current to a 1-0 victory against the Courage. Now, they are set to face the Orlando Pride on Sunday, Nov. 17, in the team’s second game of the playoffs. KC baby!
