Touring in support of his latest full-length, Fighting For, Evan Honer erupted his very first Kansas City show with “Going Nowhere Fast” and introducing us to his explosive live honky tonk ways on Thursday, Sept. 26. As he showcased songs from his recent album and the new EP, Different Life (released the very next day), the sold-out venue called out to him several times, and as the inevitable “Play Free Bird” came along, Honer broke into the guitar solo without hesitation. He told us he’d been waiting for that moment, we were just the first of the tour to do so. Honer’s spirited music is not to be missed!

Thomas Rowland’s first time in Kansas City from his home state of South Carolina was welcomed by a sold out crowd. Despite usually playing with a band, this acoustic set of soothing ambient indie songs saw Rowland telling tales of his life.
