Photos: Cougar Club nixes catty; instead claws out a monthly, age-inclusive dance party

The first Wednesday of each month, cougars, kittens, cats, and kings gather for a femme-focused dance party… and then are in bed before midnight.

Cougar Club first stalked onto the Kansas City scene in April of this year, offering a “safe, fun, and non-judgmental space for female identifying guests to connect, celebrate, and dance to some of KC’s hottest femme DJs,” according to an Instagram post.

Dance parties run from 6:30 – 10:30 p.m., accommodating a variety of lifestyles. Cocktail and mocktail menus, specials for guests over the age of 35, and curated vendors help shape Cougar Club events into a unique gathering place. Guests are encouraged to dress for specific themes such as Boots & Bangers or Disco Kitty.

While the next event on August 6 will be held at The Ship, the July party was held at In the Lowest Ferns. The theme: Wet and Wild. Pitch photographer Shea McGraw was there to capture it all. Rawr.
