Pete “The Shaker” Bones

You have to be wary about a guy who calls himself “The Shaker.” Is he jonesing for a drink like Nicholas Cage in Leaving Las Vegas? Maybe. Is he tweaking on bathtub meth? Possibly. Does he like to grab infants and give them a good, vigorous jiggle just for the hell of it? Perhaps. But Pete “The Shaker” Bones just likes to make you make your ass go ba-dum-ba-dum-bum. When you have a surname like “Bones,” a nickname seems a tad gratuitous, but his is apt. Bones has made his name on the underground dance-music scene — first in the UK and now in Florida — as a DJ who spins throbbing, tribal, progressive and house tracks and as the founder of Ugly Bug Records and Red Ant Records. But it’s behind the decks that the Shaker lives up to his name.
