Pete Bones and Ebon

My Life Remixed. The phrase has a reality-TV feel, only instead of having their rides pimped or homes remodeled, contestants would hand their histories to a remix technician, who would replace traumatic bits with exciting experiences and celebrity cameos. Until advances in memory-altering technology make this program possible, My Life Remixed will refer only to a My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult tribute album on which DJs deconstruct the sex-obsessed industrial-glam-dance duo’s work. Kansas City’s Pat Nice contributed a cut, but this release-party gig belongs to two touring acts: Pete Bones, whose freaky funk number embraces Thrill Kill’s dark side, and Ebon, the beat-tweaking group that oversaw the entire project. Ebon boasts a rich remix résumé (it once turned INXS and Depeche Mode tunes into techno thumpers), so it can certainly be trusted to bring out the club kid cowering inside Thrill Kill’s savage, horror-movie-sampling songs.
