Pendergast Breaks Up, Writes Band History

Pendergast frontman Anthony Ladesich has announced that his band’s last show ever will be Friday, December 19, at Davey’s Uptown, with Macon Greyson, Brother Trucker and the Cass County Lamenters.

Ladesich sent out the following e-mail-slash-eulogy over the weekend.

That’s right. This is not a joke. Pendergast’s LAST SHOW EVER is at Davey’s on Dec 19. There will be a visitation of the body early at 7:30 where the Cass County Lamenters will eulogize us. The big show will start immediately following the Lamenters with Brother Trucker… then Macon Greyson then US. I am going to be pushing for Pendergast to be onstage by 12:00-12:30 (no later). So come watch us strike our last chord.

All glibness aside… this make me very sad. But it must be done. This is the existential nature of being in a band. You get together you play some shows you put out some records… then you break up… unless of course you are the Rolling Stones who will be the house band in Heaven or Hell, whichever way you look at it.

As a personal note, I would like to say that it has been an honor playing in this band.
