All’s fair in love and war. Which is a stupid saying. But the 18th-annual UnPlaza Art Fair is making a smart difference by selling affordable art while donating to the cause of peace. The fair is on the grounds of the All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church (4501 Walnut) from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. It features the work of more than 80 artists in many mediums. This art fair is a juried show, but the artists do not pay an entry fee. Instead, they’re donating a percentage of their profits to PeaceWorks Kansas City, a nonprofit volunteer organization. In turn, those proceeds go to programs such as local peace- and justice-related events and university peace-study scholarships. This is your chance to give peace a chance and get some meaningful holiday shopping done, with your buck doing more than going into retailers’ tills.
