Paw Prints and Three Dog Bakery lick and make up

Earlier this month, we told you about a dog fight between Paw Prints The Magazine and Three Dog Bakery. In an article titled “Three Dog Bakery Screws the Pooch,” Paw Prints growled at Three Dog Bakery for peeing on a fundraiser for area animal shelters.
In the past, the fundraiser was known as “Dog’s Night Out.” Dog owners would take their pooches to a Wizards game, with ticket proceeds going to Animal Haven, the Humane Society of Greater Kansas City and Wayside Waifs.
Paw Prints claimed that Three Dog Bakery tried to “extort” a title sponsorship of the fundraiser by sending an e-mail to the Wizards saying the soccer club’s use of the “Dog’s Night Out” phrase violated Three Dog’s trademark. If the Wizards wanted to use the name, then Three Dog wanted to be a title sponsor without throwing in any bones.
The Wizards said no way and changed the name to “Dog’s Night at the Wizards.”
Now, Paw Prints reports that Three Dog Bakery is sponsoring the event, chipping in a lot of bones. In a post titled “Tails are wagging for Three Dog Bakery,” Dale E. Smith writes:
The fact that they are not only participating, but
with such a high level sponsorship thrills me. I think they went above
and beyond the call. … We
wag our tails to Three Dog and I’m sure the charities appreciate their
help!
Dog’s Night at the Wizards will take place May 23, with the Wizards
playing Chivas USA at Community America Ball Park. A kickoff “Yappy
Hour” is scheduled for April 29 at the 810 Zone in Leawood.
