Pat Robertson says ‘pact to the devil’ caused Haitian earthquake

You just knew that Pat Robertson would say something stupid about the 7.0 earthquake that killed more than 100,000 people in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti.

In the video above, Robertson tells the “true story” of the Haitian people swearing “a pact to the devil” to free themselves from French rule. “But ever since, they’ve been cursed by one thing after the other,” Robertson says.

Robertson goes on to say the Haitian people “need to have, and we need to pray for them, a great turning to God. And out of this tragedy, I’m optimistic, something good may come.”
